SW Test Automation Engineer

At CertiCon, we are testing the next-generation communication system for railway traffic management in collaboration with a global client supplying these systems worldwide. The product is a distributed system used by railway dispatchers for telephone communication and communication with train drivers via GSM-R technology. Additionally, it includes various services, such as real-time train position tracking on maps and train-related information.

The CertiCon team is involved in both the development and testing of this product.

Job Description

As a tester, you will design new tests, develop automated tests, and regularly test the entire system using both automated and manual tests. Your role will also include bug analysis and reporting. Testing is conducted at an end-to-end level, while unit and integration tests are handled by developers.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Analyze requirement specifications and create test designs (all documentation and test cases are in English).
• Develop and maintain automated tests using Java, Groovy, and Gherkin.
• Perform both automated and manual testing, analyze defects, and report issues.
• Work closely with developers and system architects as part of the team.
• Participate in effort estimation and planning for upcoming project cycles.

Development Environment

• Automated tests are developed using IntelliJ IDEA Community Edition.

Requirements

Must-Haves:

• Experience in test development.
• Experience with programming (in any language).
• English at a communicative level.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience with Java, Groovy, Gherkin.
• Familiarity with Git, JAMA, JIRA.
• Knowledge of Linux and Kubernetes.
